Clothes made from raincoat fabrics. Most of these can be washed with regular washing powders. Jackets quilted with non-woven fabrics or batting should be washed very carefully. Before washing, unravel a bit of the lining and check what kind of batting is laid in. If the exterior color of the jacket is dark and that of the batting – light, it is not advised to wash it at home because the dye of the batting can color the whole garment.
Hang the washed and rinsed garment on a padded hanger. Once the water stops dripping, drain it with a sheet or a facecloth towel one more time and dry it fully. Coats and jackets in synthetic combed wool are more difficult to wash because these materials are very unstable and tear easily. Read more…
